David Gilbert
President
David is a technology entrepreneur, community broadcaster, emergency services volunteer, and community advocate who currently serves as President of 92.3 FM 2YYY – The Voice of the Hilltops. With a strong belief in the power of community connection, David has dedicated much of his professional and volunteer life to supporting people, organisations, and regional communities through technology, communication, and service.
With more than two decades of experience in information technology, software development, business systems, and digital transformation, David has built a career around developing practical solutions to real-world challenges. He is the founder of Your Local Tech Solutions (YLTS), providing trusted technology services to businesses and residents throughout regional Australia, and has developed several specialised software platforms designed to improve efficiency and strengthen community-focused organisations.
Recognising the unique operational challenges faced by community broadcasters, David developed MyCRS, a purpose-built management platform created specifically for Australian community radio stations. The system helps stations manage volunteers, memberships, sponsorships, programming, compliance, and audience engagement, enabling them to focus on what matters most—serving their communities.
David is also the creator of RepairBench, an innovative repair management platform designed for mobile device and computer repair businesses. Developed from industry experience, the platform streamlines workflow management, customer communications, inventory control, and business operations.
Beyond his professional achievements, David is a long-standing volunteer with the NSW State Emergency Service (SES), where he has dedicated countless hours to helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and natural disasters. His commitment to community service reflects a deep belief in supporting people when they need it most and making a positive difference through practical action.
As President of 2YYY, David is committed to ensuring the station remains a strong, independent, and inclusive voice for the Hilltops region. He is passionate about supporting local businesses, community groups, volunteers, and not-for-profit organisations while embracing innovation that enhances the station's ability to inform, entertain, and connect the community.
David's vision for 2YYY is to build on the station's proud history while embracing new opportunities to engage listeners across multiple platforms, strengthen community participation, and ensure the station remains a vital local resource for generations to come.
Whether through community broadcasting, software innovation, local business support, or emergency service volunteering, David is driven by a simple principle: strong communities are built when people come together, support one another, and share a common voice.
